Annotation
The purpose of this article is to provide a comparative analysis of the historical development of the concept of “soul” in Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Western philosophy.
The author analyzes the origin of the term soul, its various interpretations in the history of philosophy, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, shows their mutual influence
and their historical evolution. The article analyzes how many ideas that have arisen in a particular philosophical and religious picture of the world gradually undergo a certain
transformation and, changing, “migrate” from one confession to another. It is also shown that such a process of their mutual influence is objective and historically determined.
