Annotation
The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of Ietsism as an abstract form of religious beliefs. The analysis is based on the results of the empirical studies conducted by the author and other scholars over the past decades and described in works published in the 2000s and 2020s. The article highlights the widespread prevalence of Ietsism, particularly in Christian countries. For the first time in Russian academic literature, it provides a detailed description of the characteristics of Ietsism as a mass religious worldview. It is suggested that it will further transform into a new religious movement through institutionalization. This is the first time that the problems faced by researchers of this religious phenomenon have been listed. The article notes that there is little public awareness of the existence of Ietsism. This is due to a lack of understanding of the concept of Ietsism and, as a result, a lack of research on it. In particular, there is an insufficient quantity of scientific researches on Ietsism in Russia,
with the exception of the author’s works. The article concludes with a discussion of the scientific significance of Ietsism and potential solutions to the problem of its scientific research.
