Annotation
In this study, a comprehensive (linguistic, psycholinguistic, socio-psychological, functional-role) analysis of the phenomenology of scientific metaphor in the most frequently
recorded manifestations in the space of scientific discourse is carried out. Particular attention is paid to the socio-psychological and functional-role features of the construction in the space of scientific discourse of linguistic means of expression and transmission of meanings related to the results of the scientific research process and going beyond the lexical vocabulary norm. The prerequisites and causes of the process of metaphorization of the space of scientific discourse are studied, related both to the uniqueness of scientific activity as such and to the features of its implementation associated with the processes of thinking and speech, as well as — to a large extent — with the sphere of human emotions, the consequence of which is the presence of a number of genetic and causal correlations between metaphorization and emotional expression. In conclusion, in addition to internal, an analysis of external possible reasons for the emergence of metaphors within a scientific text is also carried out, mainly
related to the peculiarities of the functioning of science in society, as well as to the customs and traditions that have developed in modern scientific activity.
