Annotation

According to the forecast of the Russian economist academician Sergey Glazyev, the world is in the middle of the sixth stage of technical and economic development. Promising directions for the development of the sixth technological order (2010–2050) will be nanobiotechnologies, artificial intelligence systems, renewable energy sources, etc. Issues related to scientific and technological progress, its impact on human and society remain relevant. The study is aimed at identifying the role of technology in the cultural system, searching for mechanisms for managing scientific and technological progress. Many threats of our time are in one way or another connected with technological development: alienation, lack of freedom, environmental disasters. The analysis of culture as a system of various hierarchically structured activity programs proposed by Vyacheslav Stepin helps to identify a human’s area of responsibility in this process.
