Annotation
This study set out to analyse the concept of spirit in Hegel’s philosophy. The genesis of the spirit is shown to be linked to the development of the soul. Hegel himself specifies that the notion he works with is equal to the Aristotelian soul. This definition makes it possible to comprehend the nature of the spirit, referring to its’ prior form. According to Aristotle, the soul is the inner purpose of the living beings, the immaterial, incorporeal origin of life. The absolute serves as the main definition of the soul and spirit’s essence. However, the article states that is impossible to understand the spirit without clarifying the nature of the absolute. Thus, a broad insight is given into the Hegel’s philosophy of absolute in its’ sign form of varying content. Throughout this paper, the term sign form will refer to an information transfer code system, a notion, expressed with a use of language. The pecularities of information and the ongoing being codification functions as the basis for the living systems’ establishment. An inner purpose in consequence is a part of our genetic program. By the way of conclusion, previously mentioned pecularities of information treat the soul in a more materialistic light.
