Annotation

The article examines the concept of «critical thinking», its status and role in shaping the professional competences of students — future teachers; the results of the sociological study on the formation of professional competences of students and the survey of opinions of students and teachers of the Moscow State University on the formation of critical thinking of students are analyzed.
