Annotation
The publication attempts to show the connection between approaches to the typology of utopias in the 20 th century and the perception of these typologies as options for solving social and political problems, and to determine the place of K. E. Tsiolkovsky’s body of ideas in this typological diversity. Considering Tsiolkovsky’s project of an ideal but possible society, the author identified the basic elements of this society — the algorithms and recipes of these efforts to create the “best society”, relying on two concepts that exhaustively describe this society: duty and benefit, when the duty of living in an ideal community (the best society) of ideal humanity lies with everyone, while benefit exists for everyone.
