THE AMBIGUITY OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF NEW MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES BY THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS

The relevance of the research topic is associated with the ambiguous perception of the achievements of scientific and technological progress by representatives of different social structures. – In this regard, the main focus of the article was the analysis of the influence of various factors on this phenomenon, including the special role of the social order. – The leading method of research in this work was the method of comparative historical analysis, which allowed us to identify the reasons for the rejection of technical innovations, both by individuals and by social and groups. – The article reveals the reasons for the attitude of individuals and social groups to technology from the standpoint of technophobia and technocratism. – The presented materials allow us to continue research on the stated issues, in particular, the disclosure of the connection between society’s perception of scientific and technological progress and education.
