Annotation
Features of the formation of patriotism on the territory of Belarus since the revolution of 1917 and ending in the 1980s. are considered in the article. The advantages and disadvantages of the Soviet system of patriotic education in relation to the Belarusian society are identified and analyzed. It is determined that almost every decade of the twentieth century has its own distinctive features: the growing role of national identity, traditional culture and language was replaced Russification; the feeling of patriotism was sometimes at the highest point of rise, sometimes it was an outsider.
