Annotation

The article provides a detailed examination of historical and cultural representations of the concept of “success”, tracing its evolution from antiquity to the present day, including pedagogical approaches and values that shape contemporary perceptions of success as personal fulfillment, achievement, and harmony. It analyzes a humanistic approach to the formation of motivation and success in education and society, emphasizing the importance of individual needs, emotional support, and subjective values in the process of personal development. The modern culture of success, based on individualism and positive thinking, is a product of cultural and economic transformations of the 20th century; however, its ambivalence and critiques are driven by internal contradictions and social inequalities. Contemporary understanding of success is ambivalent, rooted in historical and cultural origins that encompass both ideals of virtue and societal improvement, as well as critical assessments of excessive ambitions. This diversity fosters a broadening of interpretations and the development of various evaluative models, reflecting the complex interplay between internal aspirations for recognition and external social criteria. Additionally, it influences the development of cultural and philosophical ideas concerning status, recognition, and the value of the individual within a historical context.
