Annotation
The purpose of this work is to consider the philosophy of gender, as it is presented by V. V. Rozanov. This will mainly be achieved by referring to the anthropological
phenomenon called by Rozanov “moonlight people” or “the middle sex”, “the third sex”. The author proceeds from the hypothesis that Rozanov’s philosophizing is based on anthropological issues, it is anthropological views that determine his ontology and theology. The main philosophical method of research in this article, centered around Rozanov’s works, is hermeneutics. In addition, the article uses such general scientific research methods as analysis, synthesis and analogy. For example, a comparative analysis is carried out with other historiosophical constructions of Russian philosophy at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries, in which the eschatological theme is inseparable from the metaphysics of sex and love. As a result, the author comes to the conclusion that the conflict is based on V. V. Rozanov’s connection with Christianity (first historical, and then as such) lies in its tendency to deny the dogma of the fall, which in Christian anthropology is essential on a par with the idea of the godlike man.
