CONSUMPTION CULTURE IN MODERN SOCIETY: IS INDIFFERENT OR CONSCIOUS CONSUMPTION?

Annotation

The article analyzes the phenomenon of consumption and its impact on the main areas of human life. The author describes existing consumption strategies in modern society and identifies the dominant ones. The connection between production and consumption and their role in socio-economic relations is indicated. The phenomenon of consumer society is presented in the assessment of various scientists. The theme of the semantic content of a thing and the essential forces contained in it is developed. The problem of a rationally produced and rationally used thing is posed. The characteristic features of “indifferent consumption” and conscious consumption have been identified. In the paradigm of indifference, the creative development of things is minimized, and non-standardness is stigmatized. The influence of “indifferent consumption” of a thing on behavior between people is shown. The characteristics of conscious consumption are given. The introduction of mindfulness principles into the consumption process is a positive trend for the further development of socio-economic relations.
