Annotation

In the article, the author builds a sketch of his own research methodology used in the study of ideas and their practical implementation in the political and legal sphere. Theoretical grounds are the works of specialists and the author’s own works. To open the topic, materialistic approaches were chosen: Marxist, world-systemic, civilizational. The strengths and weaknesses of the analyzed methodological positions, as well as their prospects in connection with ideas and political and legal institutions are revealed.
